The Brides of March, St Martins Theatre, 1963

Denzil appeared in John Chapman’s comedy “The Brides of March” at St Martins Theatre (in South Yarra) from December 1962 to January 1963. The producer was Irene Mitchell.

In these photos we see Denzil in the role of Tony Scudamore, June Clyne as Sally Scudamore, Michael Duffield as Ken Scudamore and Esme Melville as Mrs Spencer.

Like many actors of his generation, performing in theatre was an after hours activity, separate from the day job which provided income. At the time Denzil was working full-time at GTV9 producing the daily childrens program and writing comedy material for In Melbourne Tonight.
