It would not be an exaggeration to say that at AMV4 Albury, Denzil had for a brief time what amounted to his own television station. In the field of television production, he was the most talented and experienced person on staff, having just emerged from the astonishing formative years at GTV9.
Perhaps Denzil saw in rural television a chance to find again the freedom to experiment that he relished in the initial years at GTV9 (and in country radio in the 1940s). The resources were bare by comparison, but he had fewer masters. As Programme Manager overseeing the new station, he could pursue his creative ideas with minimal interference or need to ask permission — which is the way he liked it.
Here he indulges his love of performing, in-character, recreating some famous personage for a segment on the children’s programme or maybe for a special event.
